The plot of a new beginning links the first man of creation to the first man after the great flood to the single man upon whom the story will concentrate. Adam and Noah bore in themselves the destiny of humankind. Abraham is to serve God’s project of blessing to all families of the earth. The Primeval History explains why all the peoples of the earth need blessing. Since the first fall of Adam and Eve in Genesis 3, the story of humanity has been dominated by curse.
